ROCOCO ROBOTS
Die Serie "Rococo Robots" lenkt den Blick in einen doppelten Himmel, der von Engeln und Robotern gleichermassen bevölkert wird. Hier schweben Raumschiffe neben Wolken und Maschinen strahlen genauso wie das Firmament Licht aus. Indem er Gemälde aus Barock und Rokoko mit Technologien der Gegenwart und Zukunft kombiniert, verbildlicht Camille Medardus Hagner Transzendenz einerseits als religiösen Himmel und andererseits als weltliche Raumfahrt. In ein und demselben Rahmen stellt er eigenständige Welten gegenüber und lässt sie verschmelzen und wirft damit die Frage auf, worauf das menschliche Sehnen nach einem "Jenseits" eigentlich gerichtet ist.
In the series «Rococo Robots», late Baroque and Rococo-style paintings (particarly by Giambattista Tiepolo) meet technology and space travel. Distinctive worlds merges, beating the bridge between past and present. Man, animal and machine share the same frame, in a beautifully bizarre way.
